1 - VISUAL IDENTITY
Laguna Beach Zoo (LBZ) is in the City of Laguna Beach located along the coastline of Orange County, California is a charming seaside place known for its natural beauty and vibrant artistry culture.
Their mission is to take care of animals under danger of extinction and their principals are team work, commitment, and passion. They promote the importance of animals and how to prevent their danger of extinction.
LBZ is a place for families, friends, or anyone interested in animals. Known as sophisticated, cultural, and friendly they offer an opportunity to help animals and a learning experience. Their future goals are to reach as many people as possible to keep their cause going and to improve their facilities and number of animals helped.
LOGOTYPE
The logotype uses a semi-bold serif typography with rounded variation on edges that help to differentiate from the bold sans serif styles that the majority of zoos use.
The mark is one of their most iconic animals, the snow leopard, against a shield representing protection.
TYPOGRAPHY
The typography is a combination of mono sans serif and contrasting weights to be able to manipulate legible text along with visual interest.
The first one is OSWALD with a more sophisticated characterization, while the second one PLAYFAIR DISPLAY is a more friendly profile.
COLOR
Color as well as the logotype typography is used as a differential in contrast to other zoos. After the research the color orange and blue are the best option for LBZ as they are the main colors of the palette.
Also, we use green and purple as support colors completing the Tetrad color palette for more creative room.
